Shannan Crowder

Shannan Crowder is an educator and researcher with an interdisciplinary background in psychology, education, international learning, and experiential education.

Shannan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology, a Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior division, a Master of Education in International Education, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in International Business Management. She is also an Ontario Certified Teacher.

Shannan is currently pursuing a PhD in Education at Queen’s University. Her doctoral research examines how experiential learning is conceptualized and enacted in Ontario K–8 education. Using equity as an analytical lens, her work explores connections between policy and practice and the conditions that support meaningful, authentic, community-connected, and equitable learning.

At Queen’s University, Shannan has contributed to teaching and research as a Graduate Teaching Fellow, Graduate Research Fellow, and Teaching Assistant. Her work is grounded in strengthening connections among educational theory, research, policy, and practice.
